The new 16.2MP Sony CyberShot DSC-TX55 is the slimmest compact camera with an optical stabilization systemSony has released a new compact camera, the CyberShot DSC-TX55, which claims to be thinnest model with an optical anti-shake feature. The Sony Cybershot DSC-TX55 also offers a 16.2MP sensor, OLED touchscreen and 1080i HD movie mode.
Being on 12.2mm thin makes the TX55 impressively slender, especially considering the 5x optical zoom also contained within. The 3.3inch OLED screen takes up the majority of the rear of the camera, making it all the more important that the TX55 offers touchscreen functionality.
A 1080i movie mode is also present, using the AVCHD codec, as is the Sweep Panorama mode appearing on the majority of Sony DSLRs, CSCs and compacts. A 3D mode also appears, although without a second lens two shorts are taken at different focal lengths then merged into a single shot.
The Sony Cybershot DSC-TX55 release date and price still have yet to be confirmed, but watch this space for more details.
